ABOUT
create · nourish · evolve
Hey, I’m Autumn! I’m a photographer, writer, and sourdough baker. I’m also the creative behind Evolving Autumn, a space dedicated to local food, slow living, and life rooted in the rhythms of the seasons.

Home is where most of my inspiration begins.
My Story
For much of my teens and twenties, I was searching. I spent years studying, travelling, and following a career path that never quite fit. What began as a simple creative outlet and an Instagram page to share my love of food and cooking slowly grew into something deeper. Nearly a decade later, Evolving Autumn has “evolved” into a body of work shaped by lived experience, land, and a growing respect for the people who care for it.
Along the way, I’ve published two books, photographed the beauty of real food and local agriculture, and worked multiple seasons with my hands in the soil. I’ve learned each seed I plant, practiced animal stewardship, baked hundreds of loaves of sourdough, and grown into the delicate moments of marriage and motherhood. These experiences continue to inform how I create and the stories I choose to tell.

Rooted in Norfolk County
I have since settled back into Norfolk County, the place I once said I’d never return to, and gained a new appreciation for all it offers. Known as Ontario’s Garden, Norfolk County is home to hardworking farms, craft breweries, wineries, and some of the most generous people you will meet. It is a region where agriculture, food, and community are deeply intertwined, and it continues to shape my work as a photographer and storyteller.
When I’m not behind the camera or in the kitchen, you’ll find me in the garden with my family, toes in the soil. I believe in living slowly, learning the lessons from each season (even winter), and raising a family close to the land.
My Work & Approach
My work is multifaceted, spanning photography, writing, and cooking, but it is all guided by the same values. I’m shaped by local agriculture, seasonal rhythms and the unseen work behind the food we eat.
I focus on soil-to-table storytelling and honest documentation. I capture working hands, traditions, missed details, and the beauty of food as it truly exists. My work is not staged for trends, but centres on care, patience, and place.

Sourdough &
Slow Tradition
meet Poppy

My appreciation for slow living and tradition shines most clearly through sourdough baking. In my book, I wrote:
“I wanted bread that reflected my commitment to traditional practices over modern shortcuts, where care and patience are evident in every bite.”
That same commitment lives on through Poppy, my dehydrated sourdough starter. Poppy is an extension of my kitchen and a way to share something living, resilient, and time-honoured. It is an invitation to bake slowly, nourish others, and participate in a tradition that connects past and present.

Who I Work With
— Farmers and agricultural families who want their work and stories documented with honesty and respect
— Food and farm brands rooted in sustainability, seasonality, and craft
— Small businesses seeking authentic visual storytelling
And anyone who values connection to land, process, and wants imagery that reflects the rhythms of real life.
